Senior Info

Making your senior wardrobe stand out can be a fun way to express your personality and make your photos memorable. One of my favorite things to remind seniors is that the things you can adjust in your photos are your clothes, your location, and the lighting- that’s where your variety comes from. Your wardrobe not only shows your style and who you are, its one of the three main components of your session. So, lets get a wardrobe that really shines!

Here are ten tips to help elevate your wardrobe and make your outfits pop:

  1. Incorporate Bold Colors
Choose a color that complements your skin tone and adds vibrancy to your outfit. Deep reds, royal blues, and rich greens are often great choices.
  2. Mix Textures
Combine different textures, like a wool blazer with a cotton shirt or a leather jacket with a soft sweater. This adds depth to your outfit and makes it more visually interesting.
  3. Add Statement Accessories
A standout watch, a stylish belt, or a unique tie can elevate your outfit. Don’t overdo it, but a few key pieces can make a big difference.
  4. Layer Your Clothing
Layering adds dimension and style. Try a button-down shirt under a sweater or a denim jacket over a t-shirt.
  5. Tailored Fit
Ensure your clothes fit well. Tailored or fitted clothing looks polished and flatters your physique.
  6. Incorporate Patterns
Stripes, plaids, or subtle prints can make your outfit more dynamic. Just be careful not to mix too many patterns at once.
  7. Shoes Matter
Don’t neglect your footwear. A sleek pair of shoes can tie your whole outfit together. Consider stylish loafers, boots, or clean sneakers.
  8. Play with Layers
Use different lengths and layers to add depth. For example, a long coat over a shorter jacket or a shirt peeking out from under a sweater.
  9. Seasonal Touches
Incorporate elements that reflect the season of your photoshoot. Light, airy fabrics for summer, or warm, cozy textures for fall.
  10. Personal Touches
Add something unique that reflects your personality. Whether it’s a vintage piece, a favorite graphic tee, or something symbolic, it will make your outfit uniquely yours.

By combining these tips, you’ll be able to create an outfit that not only looks great but also captures your personality and style. Whenever selecting outfits, think of your location, and season, and then add these extras to elevate your final look!
